The festive season should be in full swing now, and if you haven't attended at least a couple early Christmas themed dinners then you're not doing something right. The big day is right around the corner, and that means Christmas feasting. Whether you're feeling traditional, chic, new age or just straight-up hungry, here's our top picks for this year's Christmas day culinary delights.
re Asian Cuisine
These guys just won Time Out Bahrain's Restaurant of the Year Award, and rightly so. Sitting up on the 50th floor of the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay, this eatery combines fantastic art-deco elegance with a delicious menu featuring some pretty intricate flavour combinations. Guided by the steady hand of Michelin-starred Chef and restauranteur Wolfgang Puck, the food is beyond amazing; we get cranky if we don't get our fix of the pan seared wagyu beef pot stickers or miso-honey marinated black cod at least once a week! Their Christmas dinner special is a creative eight-course meal, taking place from 7:00-Midnight and priced at BD40.
B28 Lounge & Grill
As one of Bahrain's newest and trendiest sky bars, B28 really does tickle our festive itch quite well. Located all the way up on the 28th floor of the Swiss Belhotel, the whole of Seef sprawls out in front of you in a breath-taking 360 degree panoramic view, making this chic rooftop restaurant pretty unique. If only it would snow! Chef Holger and his team (besides looking very stylish in their Christmasy hats), will be pulling out all the stops with a gourmet 5 course set menu, priced at a pretty reasonable BD28 inclusive of a tasty welcome beverage (the resident mixologists definitely can put a creatively Christmas spin on the cocktails).
Bahrain Bay Kitchen
We had to double check our facts on this one. And then we checked them one more time. Five different types of salmon, Canadian lobster, oysters, truffle risotto, butternut squash soup, and the list goes on and on. It seems that the Four Seasons' lively indoor-outdoor eatery is going all out! If you decide to visit during their Christmas lunch service then there will be a live band strumming some festive tunes and gifts for the kids. You can hit them up for lunch from 12:30-3:30pm for BD30, and again for dinner from 7:00-11:00pm for BD21.
Masso by Chef Susy Massetti
Chef Susy and her team are always up to something, and it usually involves creating mouthfuls of unworldly goodness presented with refinement and sophistication. Throw a bit of Christmas spice into the magic cauldron at Masso and we're sure this is going to be one of the best places on the island for Christmas lunch! Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisines combine in Chef Susy's very own interpretation of contemporary cooking. Masso by Chef Susy Massetti's Christmas lunch will be running from 12:00-4:00pm and is priced from BD25!
