This week we've added some creme de la creme restaurants of Bahrain's fine-dining scene! The Ritz Carlton has some real haute-cuisine on offer, and we're excited to have them on eat for you all you foodies to book at. From their contemporary steakhouse and renowned Italian restaurant, to modern Indian and delicious Mediterranean, you can really find a bit of everything at this place. These eateries really don't require an introduction so we'll get stuck in straight away!
If you're feeling like a taste of contemporary steakhouse (we're loving the seared scallops with caviar truffle) then Plums is the place for you, while if you're up for some of Bahrain's best classic Italian then head down to Primavera. Nirvana offers great modern Indian in an intimate venue, and La Med is our go-to place for anything Mediterranean these days.
La Med combines a delicious offering of Arabic and Mediterranean cuisine with a space that's full of natural light and great views of the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf. The menu has a great Southern European feel to it, and boasts an impressive selection of seafood options, including steamed lobster, shrimps, muscles and some very fresh oysters. The outdoor terrace is one of the best spots in Bahrain to dig into some fantastic tapas style foodie options and enjoy the panorama. Their weekend brunches are renowned as one of the best places on the island to get your fill of seafood, while on Wednesday and Thursdays they have special theme nights that are all about seafood too!
This place is our hidden gem of 2016! It's a small, cozy and intimate space that focuses on pushing the envelope of the island's contemporary Indian food scene. Executive Indian Chef Mahipal Singh serves only a handful of options, but you're guaranteed that it's all going to be delicious! Fragrant aromas, delicate flavors, zingy spice combinations and stunning presentation are found across all the dishes on offer. Not sure what to get? The Kashmiri lamb rogan josh is succulent and delicious, as is the hammour macher johl! A handful of tables are surrounded by a sea of red fabric, wood and metal craftwork for a true Indian ambiance.
Headed up by two Michelin starred Chef Oliver Glowig, this modern trattoria is all about doing italian food just right. The gastronomic lineup is full of his signature style, combining locally grown seasonal produce with Oliver's unique culinary flair, making for a delicious melding of flavors. The menu is full of Italian classics, including our two favorites; parmigiana with eggplants, zucchini and cauliflower and ravioli caprese with stuffed caciotta cheese! Staffed with an almost all italian crew, you're in safe hands here. The venue boasts a stunning view, while the interior is beautiful and sophisticated with its contemporary decor and open kitchen concept.
Stellar service, a modern yet unpretentious setting and some pretty innovative food are the reasons Plums is one of our favorite contemporary steakhouses! The menu contains a wide range of cuts and choices, including Scottish salmon, US ASDA beef, Wagyu, and the fine-dining experience is further enhanced by their amuse bouche and dry ice desserts, giving your meal a pretty majestic twist. Plums walk a fine line between traditional and contemporary, but they do it well; lobster bisque, crab cakes and beef tartare contrast nicely with the foie gras with plum Mirabelle and seared scallops with caviar truffle and shitake mushrooms. The vibe is cosmopolitan, the seating comfortable and the food gastronomic.
