Restaurants and cafes are one of the most important businesses across the Middle East. Food is an essential part of our culture, and restaurants form the social backbone of cities across the region.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is already having a huge impact on the region's restaurant industry and many are already feeling the pain.

At Eat App, we care deeply about the health of the region's restaurants and are continuing to monitor the impact of Coronavirus on this vital part of the region's economy.

Looking at the data from 1000+ restaurants on our reservation platform, there has undoubtedly been a big effect on restaurants due to Coronavirus.

Across the region, business at dine in restaurants has dropped by up to 30% in the past week.

Restaurants across all the cities where we operate are taking steps to ensure the safety of their guests. We aim to keep you as updated as possible with what restaurants are doing in the coming days.

Here are just a few ways you can think about helping.

  1. If you are at home and not going out - consider delivery. Many restaurants may start offering expanded menu options for delivery as a safer alternative to dining in. This is a great way to support restaurants that don't normally offer delivery options.
  2. If you've already made reservations for a future date and don't intent on going, please cancel. your reservation. No-shows cost restaurant money.
  3. If it's safe and you are out and about, make sure to use the best practices to protect yourself and others against infection. This includes washing your hands frequently, maintaining a safe distance between yourself and others, avoid touching your face, and above all - if you have any flu like symptoms, stay home.

As of March 25th, all restaurants in Dubai will be closed for dine-in and takeaway as per government orders. Restaurants may be open for delivery, please check with the individual restaurant for more details

In a step to limit the spread of Covid-19, we are following all precautionary measures set out by health authorities and have raised our already impeccable hygiene standards to ensure all possible measures are being taken by our team to clean and sanitize all surfaces obscenely regularly.

The restaurant will be open for business as per our normal hours from 10am daily.

Bread Street Kitchen

We have always taken standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and never more so than now. The health and safety of our guests is our number one priority and we continue to ensure our policies and procedures reflect the best available information from United Arab Emirates and Dubai authorities.

With this in mind, we would like to share an overview of these measures to ensure our guests enjoy a safe and enjoyable experience.

  • In line with the practice of social distancing, all tables will remain a minimum of 2 metres apart and daily guest capacity has been reduced
  • As per direction from the Dubai authorities, all bar areas will remain closed until 31st March and only table service will be offered in the restaurant and terrace areas
  • All tables, chairs, surfaces and booths are thoroughly sanitised after each use
  • We have increased our cleaner staffing levels to ensure an elevated cleaning and sanitization frequency throughout Bread Street Kitchen front and back of house, with particular attention paid to high-touch items
  • An increase in sanitizer hygiene stations for our colleagues, hostesses and guests

Daily meetings are conducted to review the situation and we will continue to take additional measure where and when necessary to safeguard our guests and colleagues during this time.

As a precautionary measure, the United Arab Emirates and Dubai authorities have instructed that all entertainment and events in the region are to be paused.

Therefore, in accordance with this direction, World of Nobu Brunch will be temporarily suspended until 31st March 2020. However, Nobu remains open for dinner daily.

We want to share some of our thoughts and updates ith you in regard to the current unprecedented times.

Firstly, thankfully all the SWR Hospitality team are all in good health. We are taking multiple precautionary measures to keep it this way. We are checking temperatures of our team multiple times a day. Our hygiene standards and sanitizing schedules for our teams and areas are following all necessary (and more) protocols advised by experts to stay on top of this.

The health of our staff & customers is and always will be our priority. We are all about supporting our community, so please take care of yourself and each other and please let us know if there is anything else we can do to support you in these strange times.

At this time all the dining areas in our restaurant are still operating as usual. As a precautionary measure stated by the government we have closed all the bar sections.

Due to the current Covid-19 virus situations we are taking measures to ensure the safety of our guests and staff and will remain open pending any changes.


With Covid-19 developing in so many countries around the world, our commitment is to adhere to the World Health Organization advice and protocols set by the Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Municipality.

Health and safety of our guests, our partners and our staff are of absolute priority. Hook & Cook Seafood Restaurant is operating as normal as always. However, due to the current situation we have removed the happy hour promo (4pm-7pm) and Shisha services in accordance with the DM regulations on crowds and/or gatherings.

Moreover, we have implemented strict preventive measures in our business to address all clients' concerns with regards to COVID-19 in line with the DM policies and procedures. This, we can assure our guests once they book.

With our many years of experience in hospitality, one thing has always come first; the wellbeing of our community - our Baker & Spice team, every person who walks through our doors and dines with us, and the city we call home.

We are closely monitoring the situation and enacting incredibly stringent hygiene protocols, as well as following government guidelines. We are committed to serving delicious meals, and our doors are - at present - open: we welcome you into our spaces across the city if you feel well and up for it. Times of Arabia Gold is still open every day. In cooperation to Dubai Government, we make sure we follow the safety of our staff and our regular customers.

  • We provide material to our staff about proper hygiene how to prevent the virus
  • We provide soap & hand sanitizer with a place for washing hands within various areas of our restaurant for customers & staff
  • We set schedules for extra cleaning equipment, utensils or areas where there is large amount of regular exposure
  • Reminding the staff to take precautions as well as wear gloves or long steel tongs to collects any waste that may be contaminated with nasal discharge or saliva
  • In cooperation to Dubai government, we will temporarily stop serving shisha until further notice.
